  1. A cosy home away from home in the lap of mother nature. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay at Krushikoota. Our hosts -Kruthik, Shabari and Drushi made us feel at home - hospitality at its peak and the warmth of your house blended with delicious malnad cuisine. A walk through the forest accompanied by Kruthik is indeed a memorable one. I was bowled over by Kruthik's knowledge about the medicinal herbs, rare birds etc. A stay in the midst of mist covered paddy fields and three rivers ,a beautiful malnad house to live in - with peacocks dancing in your courtyard and home made wine to sip on - You could not ask for more. I have enjoyed my stay at Krushikoota and have made friends for life!

  3. Loved our stay at Krushikoota, one of the most memorable holidays taken with my parents. Kruthik, Shabari and Shubha are fantastic hosts. Delicious malnad delicacies at every meal, morning walks along gently flowing Malati and in the forests, Birdwatching during the day, stargazing at night; we loved every moment of it. Here is the link to a collection of my tweets of this holiday, http://storify.com/sudhakanago/malnad-trails-sringeri
Thank you for a great time and the advice to skip Agumbe in favour of Kundadri.

  4. We, a family of 5, had a lovely time at the homestay! The host family is very friendly and helpful, the food is awesome - which complemented the natural beauty of the place to make our stay very memorable!

And, Spike, the funny dog, took all of us on a guided tour of the place and surroundings :)

    cheers,

  5. We had a great time here on 26th July 2014! Upkeep of the place was excellent!

Malnad dinner/breakfast awesome! I wanted to post the photo I had taken at dinner table, I will send to Kruthik, he can upload, picture is worth thousand words. My wife ended up getting the recipe from Sabari!

One disappointment was the river/stream was not accessible, it is 5 minutes walk from the resort and due to monsoon, the way to that through the agricultural land was all muddy.

Definitely recommend this for stay in this area!

  7. Hi Everyone..We were three friends from Bangalore and plan was to stay in Agumbe for 1 day and next day in Kudremukh. Drove all night and landed in Krushikoota Feb 6 2015 by noon. We started our own cooking near the stream and Kruthik helped us with the location. The place has everything which a home stay requires and we enjoyed a lot. Kruthik is an amazing person and understands the requirements of guests quite well. We were treated to a lovely dinner and breakfast in the morning. He even tried booking the forest guest house for us in Kudremukh. The rooms were very neat and comfortable. This is the only home stay closest to Agumbe from Sringeri. We just dint have enough time to enjoy the place completely and plan to visit when the monsoons start in July. I would highly recommend Krushikoota to anyone who wants to visit Agumbe and its a great value for money. Thanks a lot Kruthik and look forward to see you soon. Visitors can reach me on raj.casablanca@gmail.com for any info on Agumbe and Kudremukh..Thanks Pradeep Raj

  8. Travel & Photography are my Passion that takes me to Different Places & People. Even much before I stayed in KRUSHIKOOTA and that was on 01.04.2015.for almost 3 days, I had visited Mr Kruthik & Ms, Shabari , the Host Couple in 2014 and was highly impressed by their cordiality. And this time, as a Guest, I delighted myself in the typical Malanad Environs of the homestay, being Well Taken Care Of with Delicious Dishes & timely Guidance and Help in my itinerary. And Undoubtedly, KRUSHIKOOTA has taken a Permanent Place in my Top Priority Home-stay List in the Malanad region. Thanks A Lot Kruthik, Shabari & Drushi...............

  9. We stayed here during the weekend of June 24-26, 2017. It was basically a trip to the Sringeri temple, but we chose to stay here and we were not disappointed with the decision. More than anything we were pleasantly surprised by the hospitality of Kruthik and family. It was the beginning of monsoon, so we never really got to venture much into the property except for a little stroll across the nearby fields. Throughout our stay we got to savor freshly prepared Malenadu cuisine. We got to taste several tasty dishes over dinner and breakfast. I particularly liked the dishes prepared with mango, pathrode and the Neer dose. Shabari and Kruthik took good care of us.

The rooms were spacious and well maintained. The beds were clean and we were offered comfy blankets. We could get hot water to bathe even late in the night. The area experiences frequent power cuts and Kruthik has ensured there is some kind of back-up so we rarely felt the pinch.

Overall it was a good experience and we hope to return sometime when the rains have eased off a bit.

  11. This is our third visit to Krushi Koota and as ever, we enjoyed the best of hospitality, authentic malanad cuisine carefully crafted by Mrs Sabari Kruthik and the best thing that we always cherish every time we visit this place is the warmth in which we were treated. We have become one of their family members and I would certainly recommend this place for all my family and friends as it is really worth a stay. We have promised Kruthik that we would make one more visit next year during April. You are doing a fantastic job and the way you have maintained the property is amazing and your new renovated house shows your taste and it has been a great pleasure for us to being part of your warmth. Great going Kruthik. Our kids had a great time playing in the stream and visiting your farm. Mere words can't explain the feeling and satisfaction we went through and the food was outstanding and we mercilessly ate as much as our stomach could accommodate. Overall a fantastic experience all put together.

  12. We had gone on a temple tour with family in mid of November last month, so we wanted to stay in a homestay on our visit to Shringeri Sharadamba temple to experience the authentic malnad cuisines and to have a homely feeling. And the only homestay we found on the net with good reviews was Krushi koota Homestay. Have to say we really took a right decision of choosing this homestay!!! First of all kudos to the hospitality showed to us by Kruthik and Shabari during our entire stay. As soon as we settled down in our rooms, they welcomed us with Hot-hot Coffee which is the best coffee I ever had till date! Trust me it was way better than the best coffee brands that you know!  And as for the home made sweets and snacks they gave us with Coffee, I just kept hogging them like food !!! : D it was so damn yummy!!! After we had our coffee, since we were eager to take a stroll, Kruthik took us in and around his farmhouse and showed us his fields which is so vast and full of greenery and gave us a refreshing feel! Food prepared by Shabari in traditional Malnad style was so yummy too!!! We kept smiling with satisfaction while we had till our tummies full. The Rooms were spacious and neat and well maintained. No Complaints. There was a continuous supply of Hot water and thick blankets were provided.
So from now on everytime we visit Sringeri, the stay will be at KrushiKoota… !! 

By the way Kruthik - the above review is from my wife Shubha :P

  13. We are frequent travelers and this was the first time we have signed up for a home stay. I have done lot of research and read many reviews before finalizing Krushi Koota Home Stay. When we arrived at Krushi Koota we knew that we made a right choice. Kruthik and Shabari are perfect hosts, we never felt that we were away from home during our stay. Kruthik was kind enough to explain us about the coffee plantations and other spices which are grown in his farm. He has escorted us to the river which flows adjacent to this home stay. Kids loved the open lawns and had good time playing in the river.
We had the privilege of tasting some authentic Malnad cuisine, of which our favorite was Kadubu and Neer Dosa.
Thanks Kruthik and Shabari for your Hospitality, we look forward to stay at your place sometime in future.

  14. Krushikoota is a must experience homestay at Sringeri and that part of the Western Ghats! The hosts Mr Kruthik and Mrs Shabari are perfect hosts, very warm, humble and down to earth, and thoughtful people. We arrived very late almost 11PM, Mr Kruthik welcomed us, made us very comfortable. They have a beautiful estate with arecanut, coffee, spices and other crops. They made very delicious, authentic Malnad food made with some vegetables from their garden that all of us enjoyed very much. Mr Kruthik gave us very useful tips on local attractions. There are a lot of things to do in the area as one can learn from Krushi Koota's blogsite. You need at least 3-4 days and won't be disappointed. The whole place just relaxes you - you don't need to go around seeing and doing things. Definitely visiting next time! Thank you Mr Kruthik and Mrs Shabari for your true hospitality! Wish you the very best and hope to meet again!

  16. We visited Krushikoota Homestay last weekend with my family (April 2022) for the long weekend. Very Decent, calm and best place to visit. Rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. Food served was tasty and healthy. Very good view around the homestay. Lake, forest and farms around the resort will take you to another world.
We had a peaceful, pleasant stay and highly recommended for families with kids or elderly people who are planning to visit Sringeri and Udipi.
